Ingredients
- 300 g fresh green Mallow leaves
- 1 onion (large)
- 8 garlic cloves
- 1 green pepper horn (hot)
- 1 tomato (optional)
½ cup olive oil
⅓ tsp salt
Preparation
- Wash mallow leaves well until water looks clear and clean, then squeeze the leaves using your hands
- chop the onions into slices
- chop the garlic cloves into slices or keep whole
- peel the tomato and cut in medium sized cubes
- in a suitable pot, add olive oil, then onions ,and stir
- add the pepper horn over the onions
- add the garlic and stir until golden in colour
- at this stage add the tomato and stir (optional)
- add mallow and salt, stir for a couple of minutes
- remove from the heat. Serve hot or cold
