Ingredients:
- 500g minced meat
- 2 large tomatoes - diced
- 1 large onion - diced
- 1 tbsp red pepper paste
- 1 teaspoon chili (optional)
- 1tsp 7 spices
- 1.25 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 500g flour
- 250 ml warm water
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 40 ml olive oil
Directions:
- In a large bowl, add the meat, onions, tomatoes, peppers, spices and 1 tbs salt. Mix all the ingredients together. Transfer to a colander, place a bowl underneath to get rid of any excess water, then place in the fridge until ready to use
- Next to prepare the dough, add flour and oil in a mixer. Dissolve the yeast with water and sugar, then add to the flour and knead
- Add salt and continue kneading until you get a soft dough
- Put the dough in a bowl and cover. Allow the dough to rest for approximately 1 hour or until it has doubled in size
- Spread the dough into a 1/2 cm thickness. Cut small circles, using a dough cutter or any round shape
- Each circle is stuffed with an appropriate amount of meat stuffing and formed according to desire
- Place the stuffed dough onto a greased oven baking tray, leave space in between the dough so as they don’t stick together while baking
- Leave the stuffed dough to rest for 10 minutes before baking
- Bake stuffed dough in the oven at 180°c for 18-20 minutes or until cooked and golden
- Serve as desired next to yougurt and salad.
