Ingredients:
1/2 kg sheep meat, diced into big chunks
2 cups freekeh
2 tablespoons margarine
4 bay leaves
2 cinnamon sticks
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 big onion
For Garnish:
Minced meat cooked in margarine or vegetable oil
Fried almond & pine nuts
Preparation:
Cook the diced sheep meat in margarine on low heat until the color has changed completely.
Pour water over the meat & add the bay leaves, cinnamon sticks & onion & let it cook well after boiling until well done.
Take off the bad seeds from the freekeh, then rinse well with water.
In a pot, add the freekeh with 3 cups of broth from the cooked sheep meat & let sit for 30 mins. add salt and cinnamon, put it on high heat, once the water is boiled lower the heat and cover the pot, let it cook until the water is evaporated and the freekeh is well done, along with the pre-cooked meat.
Add the freekeh on a serving plate & garnish with minced meat & fried almonds & pine nuts.
